Coverage and speed figures are population/network averages drawn from Ofcom Connected Nations and independent network testing, for general comparison only. MVNO rows show the host network's coverage and speed, since MVNOs share the infrastructure of the network listed beneath them. Always check exact coverage at your specific location using the postcode tool below before committing to a contract.

Understanding MVNOs

Which network does each provider actually use?

Most UK mobile brands don't own any masts — they're MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) who rent capacity from one of the four networks above. Coverage and speed are identical to the host network; what differs is pricing, contract terms, roaming policy and business features.

FAQ

Business mobile network — frequently asked questions

Common questions about choosing between UK mobile networks for business.

Which UK network has the best coverage for business?
EE generally has the widest 4G coverage at 99% of the UK population and the most extensive 5G rollout. However, coverage varies significantly by exact location, so the "best" network for your business depends on your specific sites. Use the postcode checker above to compare coverage at your actual business addresses rather than relying on national averages.
Should I choose an MVNO or a major network for business?
MVNOs are typically 20–40% cheaper and offer identical coverage to their host network, making them excellent value for very small teams. However, most MVNOs lack business-specific features like centralised multi-line billing, shared data pools, and dedicated account management. For businesses with 5 or more connections, the major networks — or a multi-network broker like T2K — typically offer better account management and support.
What does the Vodafone-Three merger mean for coverage?
Vodafone and Three completed their merger in May 2025 to form VodafoneThree, though both brands continue trading separately. The networks are being gradually combined using Multi-Operator Core Network (MOCN) technology, allowing customers on either network — plus MVNOs like VOXI, SMARTY and iD Mobile — to connect to whichever network has the strongest signal in a given location. Full nationwide integration is expected by 2033, but coverage improvements are already rolling out on a site-by-site basis.
Can I mix networks across my team with T2K?
Yes. T2K is not tied to any single network, so connections across your business can be split across whichever networks perform best at each location — all consolidated under one monthly bill and one account manager. See our business mobile phones page for full details.
Is 5G coverage important for a typical business?
For most office-based business use — calls, email, video calls, cloud apps — strong 4G coverage is sufficient. 5G mainly benefits businesses with heavy mobile data use, such as field teams streaming video, transferring large files on the move, or using mobile hotspots as a primary connection. Three currently offers the fastest average 5G speeds, while EE has the widest 5G geographic footprint.
How accurate is the coverage checker above?
The postcode tool links directly to Ofcom's official coverage checker, which uses prediction data supplied by each network operator. These are computer-generated predictions based on mast location and local topography — actual signal can vary due to building materials, indoor vs outdoor use, and local terrain. For a guaranteed result, ask T2K to confirm coverage with the network directly before signing a contract.
